The impressive facade of the Michelangelo Hotel greets you upon arrival as you arrive by car. Valet parking whisks away your vehicle while the bellhop and concierge warmly greet you. The hotel is grand in every aspect of its design and high voluminous ceilings meet you and walls as you enter taking the lift up to the reception floor.
Hotel Entrance
Our check in was well handled with efficiency and care shown by the staff. First impressions are definitely reinforced as you walk through the hotel and take the glass lift you to your room.
Rooms
The rooms are elegantly appointed carefully concealing the 'mod cons' required by all modern travelers. The Hotel offers 242 Suites and rooms. Stepping out of your room the view of the inner courtyard of Nelson Mandela Square with the iconic statue of Madiba overlooking the square is breathtaking. The rooms share a common balcony between two rooms.
Service and facilities
We were met with courteous and friendly service at all interactions with the hotel staff. The hotel offers facilities for all discerning travelers, whether you are travelling on business, with family on holiday or individually.
The adjoining Nelson Mandela Square offers the visitor access to all the top brand outlets and a variety of restaurants to choose from to eat in should you not wish to dine at the hotel.
Food
The Piccolo Mondo offers fine dining in the evening or you can relax in the more informal lounge the Il Ritovo.
A sumptuous breakfast awaits you in the morning allowing to quietly awaken your taste buds to the generous cold buffet and continental breakfast. A full hot breakfast offering still awaits you.
