On a recent trip to the Kruger Park we needed to find a place in the greater Nelspruit area to overnight en route and also to stay on our return journey. As we were driving to our destination we wanted a quite secluded place away from the hustle and bustle of the town.
We did a fair an amount of research online and managed by chance to stumble upon Belgrace Boutique Hotel.
Having arrived after a long road trip we wound our way up the R538 which takes you up to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport. We turned off and were warmly welcomed by the guard at the gate. Winding our way down to the parking and reception we immediately knew that we had made the right decision in choosing to stay here.
Welcome drinks and the quite trickle of the water fountain at the hotel entrance gave way to calm and exquisite surroundings of the hotel. The expansive dining room opened out onto a spacious verandah and gardens. There are eight magnificently decorated suites each with its own design and character and no expense have been spared with the décor and extras in the suites. Some of the suites have internal Jacuzzi’s while others have external ones; each suite has its own hidden surprise. There is also ‘cottages’ that are available for hire that carry the same elegance and charm of the rest of the hotel. The garden is lit at night with fairy lights creating a warm glow and ambience.
The staff is ever willing and no request is too small or too big. They really went out of their way to make us feel welcome and at home. You can choose to eat in your suite or in the dining room. We choose to eat in our room and it was absolutely the right decision giving us the chance to unwind and enjoy the tranquil surrounds of our room. The menu was an absolute delight catering for all tastes and palettes.
Breakfast in the morning under the large tree in the garden was incredible, as we relaxed enjoying the cold buffet and warm cooked breakfast. The stress and worry of city life soon became a fading distant memory. We requested a late checkout which once again was no problem at all.
The entire hotel is decorated with an extravagant Italian theme throughout and has really been done with style and class.
Having finished our trip to the park we returned back to the hotel on our final night in the area, to our absolute surprise we discovered that we had been upgraded to the Hampton Presidential Suite. This was really the piece de résistance, eating a superb dinner served on the verandah, while watching the sun set and drinking a good South African wine. The suite has many delights and surprises awaiting the guest.
The entire experience was memorable and for anybody travelling through or to Nelspruit we would highly recommend Belgrace Boutique Hotel, you most certainly won’t be disappointed.
